Amouage is a luxury perfume house founded in Oman in 1983, renowned for its opulent fragrances that blend Arabian heritage with contemporary artistry and premium ingredients. The brand is celebrated for its commitment to craftsmanship, exclusivity, and the unique use of rare materials, particularly frankincense from the Dhofar region.
Founded by royal commission in Muscat, Oman, Amouage’s creation was inspired by the desire to revive and elevate the art of Omani perfumery. The name means "Waves" in French and reflects the brand's fusion of Eastern and Western influences. Bottles echo Omani culture, featuring designs inspired by the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and the Kanjar dagger. Initially, perfumes were presented exclusively as gifts for dignitaries before entering the global luxury market.
